Bit of an update

As usual we have been crazy busy, doing our normal stuff. We've been working on our expectant parent letter, that goes with our LDS online profile. We have a hard time writing one because... well, what do you say to a stranger, who's going through something you don't completely understand? a stranger who may give you the greatest gift of all? On top of, how do you fully convey who you are in just a letter? I don't know. We just hope and pray as we write it that we will touch the life of the family who is going to be part of our family! Anyway~ I guess it'd probably safe to announce... we do have another newborn coming into our custody. His online name will be "Thor" (as chosen by Jared). We have no clue about how long or anything like that. So I'll keep ya posted as we find things out.

Lacrosse

We had the great opportunity to go see one of our neighbor's play lacrosse! He's 13 yrs. old and is also one of Jared's scouts. It was so fun to see him play! I haven't seen a good lacrosse game since my two sisters were playing back when we were in high school. Anyway~ here are some pictures of the awesome game.

Our crazy weekend!

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to go with this post, but I'll make it brief... as much as I can.

Fri. we got a call asking us to do shelter care. Shelter is when the states needs somewhere FAST to put kids until they get family or a more permanent place for the kid(s). Here's the catch... they needed shelter for 6 kids!! I about died!! We have an extra queen bed, 3 twins, and we have our pack n play. They kids ranged from ages 14 yrs to 18 months. SO! We decided to take the challenge. LUCKILY!! Our good friends were able to help us out TONS! So most of the time, we had all 6 kiddos during the day. Our friends would keep 2 of them at night.

So ended up getting the kids home about 6 p.m. Friday. I don't really want to go into details, but the last one left yesterday at about 4:30 p.m. Once again, not going into details, but all 6 are now in temporary custody of their dad(s).

So I just thought I'd share a bit of our latest adventure. It was fun having them. NOISY! LOL I think they only time it was quiet in this house was when we were all sleeping. We played, ate, went to the park a couple of times, and ... yes, picking up the house happened lots.

OH! Last quick story then I'm done :o) ... Jared and I ...being naive, thought we could handle 5 of the kids at wal-mart, getting them new clothes! NEVER AGAIN! LOL It was insane. We survived but I will take them in much smaller groups next time.

Baby shower for baby Landon!

As I mentioned, this last weekend I got to go home to help celebrate the soon arrival of my newest nephew. Anna, the sis. just older then me, did a ton of work for it!! She made some awesome decorations and presents for Mel and Landon. I will definitely post what pictures I have of the crafts. The shower had a really great guest turn out!! It was a blast. We ate, talked, Mel opened presents, and we played a couple of shower games. Mel is actually the one who came up with the games. THEY WERE FABULOUS! Not your typical... what baby food is this, how big is her belly, etc. We had to guess fun facts about Mel and Justin (her hubby) from when they were babies/born, Mel put like 8 pics of her during different stages of the pregnancy and we had to guess how far along she was in the pic... there was a game where you had to match up the celebrity with their child's name... You get the idea. It was a fun shower! Mel wasn't to happy with me because she doesn't like my photography skills and I got asked to be behind the camera... but if that's the worse thing to happen at her shower, I'd say that's pretty good. hehe ... so this wasn't at the shower. Fri., Anna and I got to Vegas early afternoon. When Mel walked in from work that evening, they were wearing the same shirt! So funny! Anna's trying to look preggo here too, but Mel's the only sister preggo.

As you can see, it was an awesome trip! I can't wait to meet Landon is just 2 1/2 short weeks (or sooner!) Love to all!!

I'm back

I went home to Las Vegas at the end of last week. My younger sis. (yes, she is bigger then me but I'm still older and wiser ;o) love you Mel!) had a baby shower!! She's due at the end of this month. Anyway~ that's my excuse for not blogging like I should have. This is my last catch up post (unless I can think of something else... but I don't think so). The post about my sister's baby shower will come in the next day or two.

This catch-up post is going to be about my hubby! Incredible, smart, fun-loving, caring... okay, I'll stop... Jared. This man works harder then any other person I know. After a long, hard day at work... typically he comes home and Buddy is waiting to wrestle him. This particle picture

was taken on a Friday. He had just gotten home from work. He rode his bike to work that day, by the way. When he got home, we had kids over that wanted to play with Jared SO BADLY! So he went running through the sprinklers with them. Later that night we took the kids to a ... community vender fair type thing. I don't know how to describe it. Anyway~ Jared was of course the main attraction there too.

I think is one of my favorites!! Mom Payne laying on Jeni, Jared, and Jason's lap. I think they were all suppose to do something funny in this one, but Jared's the only one who did. Jared has such a great relationship with everyone on his side of the family. He doesn't talk to most of them a lot, but Jared definitely loves and sincerely cares about each and every one of them... I know if he could, he'd take away all of their struggles.

So I'll stop bragging about him now. I'm sure you've all had enough mush in one post! But know this... I really do have the best husband EVER!!! Love to all!
