Beware... Holy longness

Okay~ so where has the time gone?? Way too quickly that's for sure. So here's a brief update of what we've been up to, and I'll do more specific post later. You may want to pull up a chair, chips, and a soda. Sorry! Ends up it's a long update :o)

Jared... busy as EVER! Currently, I'm a "work/scout widow". Meaning, Jared is either working hard at work (they've been working against a deadline on a project or something or another :o) ), or at scouts (activity, camping, something!). Lately he hasn't gotten home until 6:30 p.m....leaves again at 7 p.m. I won't lie, it's hard having him gone so much. At the same time, I know it's only temporary and I'm glad to know I have such a hard working hubby, that provides for us, works hard at his calling, and is loved by many.

I have been busy doing the mom thing. I'll go more into detail in Ayden's section. At the beginning of the month we had the chance to go to Las Vegas where my sisters were so incredibly awesome and threw an adoption shower for me and Ayden. I'll post specifics there later. A week later, some friends and I went to the zoo and had a blast! Ayden was a bit too young to totally enjoy it, but once again ... more on a later post. Sorry... But yeah, mom/wife gig is keepin me pretty busy. I LOVE it... most days. It's hard, especially with Jared being gone so much lately, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Well, except having Jared home more :o)

Mr. Ayden has had the most change of all. He now has 8 teeth! He's about to need his first hair cut too! The dude's hair is starting to get outta control. I know I posted the start of his mobile-ness. He has since mastered army crawl. He's starting to get regular crawling, but I think it's a laziness thing to be honest lol I know he can do regular crawls, but he just hasn't really wanted to yet. With time... I'm in no rush for him to grow up. He's getting into EVERYTHING now as it is. Now onto his eating... so mid-June we took him in for his 9 month/weight check/ear infection check. No ear infection!!! So we're avoiding tubes, so far. He weighed in at 13 lbs, 10 oz. At this appointment, we started getting more serious with Ayden's eating problems. Dude should not hurt when he eats! So Dr. ordered a bunch of test (which all came back normal), told us to see a nutritionist, and said we could change formulas if we wanted, give him more solids, whatever we wanted. Dr. was that much at a loss too. SO! That night, I went to the grocery store... called my lactose-free smarty pants of a sis (she does have a hubby and two kids dealing with it), and went home with a new lactose-free formula. We slowly switched him. Once we were 100% lactose-free it was night and day!! Ayden started eating like a champ! So, he's lactose-intolerance. We went to see his bio. family a couple days later... turns out it runs big time on bio mom's side. Most of them have out grown it, but not all. So we may deal with it his whole life, we may not. Anyway~ after about a week of doing well, we got it "officially" changed, we went to WIC to get vouchers and ended up putting Ayden on the scale. He weighed in at 14 lbs, 9.8 oz (with clothes, and wet diaper he was up a pound lol)! We ended up at the dr. Tues. night (get to that in a min) and Ayden weighed in at 14 lbs, 4.5 oz (clothes, clean diaper)... point being, he's now gaining weight!!! We have to go back to the dr. in a month for a weight check, we'll see what Ayden's doing then. So, on to why we were at the dr. Tues. night... a few days after changing the formula Ayden got a bad diaper rash. We thought it was the pears/pineapple we gave him. But the dang thing wouldn't clean up!! It would kind of come and go, but never totally gone away. Tues. (and Wedn.) was so bad! It was almost constant crying, he wouldn't move... he was MISERABLE! I had, had enough by Tues. evening, that I got us in. Dr. said it's not a reaction to the formula (thank goodness!)... that it's just a rash that hasn't had a chance to really clean up. Yeah... that's probably my bad because of different events (ran out of costco diapers, started using a different brand that was given to me, same with wipes... didn't give him enough nakey time... you know, stuff i should have been more cautious of when it first started). Dr. gave us a strong cream, gave us some suggestions, and sent us on our way. Anyway~ I'm happy to report it has almost healed up! He'll move EVERYWHERE once again, it only hurts when we wipe, and he's happy again!! So hopefully in a couple more days it'll be totally gone.

Anyway~ thanks for reading my novel :) I will do more specific posts later. Until then, love to all!!!
